Our People

TSG's competitive advantage is its people. Many of the items used in our business are truly replaceable commodities- identify the best price and you have made your selection. Computers, monitors, network equipment- there is little differentiation in any of the equipment. However, when you hire a company to provide services to support your event, you aren't renting hardware- you are hiring people. And TSG's people are its main intellectual asset. Our people make the difference.

TSG has an internal certification program that insures that all staff are trained to a level that encompasses the best practices learned in the course of supporting Microsoft events since 1989. TSG has put in place proven processes that harness the desire to learn and the proper customer-service focus in our new hires, which enables them to grow over time into a member of the finest event technical support team in the world.
When you work with TSG, at any level, you may be confident that all of the project managers and technical staff have developed themselves from entry level positions to senior positions. All of our Senior Technical Consultants were Associate Technicians at one time- and they understand the day to day workings of an event from the ground up. In addition, each of our Event Technical Managers and Event Technical Consultants- our project management team- started out as an entry-level technician, and worked their way up through the ranks to become a project manager with substantial event specific experience.

No other organization can claim to have the immediate and dedicated event technical support staff that TSG offers- over 20 full time dedicated event technicians, and 9 dedicated event project managers.
TSG can quickly scale to any level demanded by your project. Indeed, 100's of technical staff can be obtained quickly both internally from our CompuCom sister companies and our key partner relationships to meet the needs of your project.

Hardware Options

Hardware can be one of the highest single costs to an event, and TSG is well versed in working with our Microsoft clients to find the least cost, most effective hardware source. We consider all sources, including sponsored equipment from HP, Dell, Toshiba, and IBM to rental equipment from a variety of vendors that offer Microsoft specific discounted pricing. Sourcing and working with servers, SAN's, Arrays, Laptops, Desktops and Tablet PC's, TSG works with these options constantly and is well versed in the processes and procedures necessary in engaging the appropriate provider, and can assist you in the cost/benefit analysis for each option to ensure that you have selected the best for your event.

How do you determine if it makes sense to try to secure sponsored equipment or does it make sense to rent equipment?
Maybe a combination of both? Let us help you- with more than an event a day, we know hardware inside out.

TSG knows what the main sponsor and rental options have available, and can match your request with the appropriate hardware need. Matching the specifications to the inventory of the sponsors takes knowledge of what is needed- and knowledge of what is available. TSG has both. Working on an average of 9 events a week, we are in constant contact with all parties that provide hardware- take advantage of our experience to your event's benefit.

TSG has developed strategic partnerships in order to provide a seamless 'one stop shopping' experience in procuring hardware and providing technical support. Let us help you make the right decisions!
Software Resources

With the highest level of industry experience supporting technical events, TSG has developed numerous software tools that allow us to deploy an event and make changes to core content at the event quickly and rapidly. In the more common situations, this saves time and money for the event owner. In the most drastic of circumstances, these tools ensure the event happens on time or at all. Without rapid re-deployment to accommodate last minute customer changes, last minute delays due to event content development, or difficult facility schedules, some events would not be ready in time for the attendees to arrive without TSG's specialized tools.
Bottom line- our tools save our customers money, offer them flexibility to deal with event timeline realities, and in some cases make the event's success possible when other options have failed.

TSG has worked for years with Microsoft products in an event environment. Whether it has been released product, pre-release product, or pure research-concept product, TSG has assisted in deploying Microsoft software in all environments. No one knows more about these products then the developer- and no one knows more about deploying Microsoft products in a large-scale event environment than TSG.
TSG has a unique physical and logical location to nullify some of the obstacles to simple and fast software installation and deployment. Specifically, TSG is located on Microsoft's Redmond campus, and has full, access in our offices and most importantly our development labs to the Microsoft Corporate Network. We have access and permissions to the majority of the server locations housing the released and pre-release software, and are considered a trusted vendor resource by Microsoft.
Network Connectivity

Network connectivity is perhaps one of the most confusing elements of an event. Getting on the internet, having access to your Microsoft email and providing access to attendees corporate networks is imperative- it is expected and it must be as reliable as the electricity and other utilities in the facility. Facilities vary greatly in what they can provide, how they price their offerings, and vary widely in their understanding of what a Microsoft event requires. TSG has likely worked in the facility in question- we know their capabilities, we know what kind of pricing can be negotiated, and we understand better than anyone what Microsoft events require when it comes to networks.

Working with both wired and wireless networks, serving the needs of the attendees as well as the show management and staff,
TSG knows what needs to be done and how to do it most efficiently and effectively.

When ordering connectivity, it is important to match the terms and capabilities that the facility or venue offers with the needs that Microsoft events have. Having the facilities technical staff inform you that wireless is available in all meeting rooms, or that all rooms have high-speed internet, can be misleading in that you may believe that this network is in fact there, is robust enough to accommodate your events needs, and that it will work with the Microsoft staff and attendee staff needs to get to their appropriate corporate networks.
TSG knows what kinds of systems are in place at many facilities, and can ask the appropriate questions based on our experience and learn the systems ins and outs in order to then adjust or plan accordingly to meet the event specific needs.

Sometimes this includes working around the facilities normal system, augmenting the system, and working with them to change settings and processes while the Microsoft event is in house. With 1000's of events done with network connectivity that TSG has ordered and managed, TSG is in perfect position to leverage our best practices to your advantage.
